Youth & Education Marketing Manager


General responsibilities include managing the planning, implementation, and coordination of all Youth and Education Services programs at NHRA National Events. You will be responsible for maintaining the relationships between schools, sponsors, facilities and the community to continue development of the program. In addition, this position will assist the National Event Marketing team with on-site fulfillment of contractual obligations between sponsors, pro teams, national event tracks and NHRA.


  • Provide active and positive leadership to promote and grow the educational programs of NHRA Youth & Education Services.

  • Plan and organize the Career Opportunities Fair (COF) program

  • Pre-event planning of logistics with tent companies and various vendors

  • Manage and grow email database of local educators

  • Continue to develop STEM engaging curriculum, develop program to find alternative funding with grants or additional sponsors

  • Assume responsibilities associated with the daily operation of YES Program including the handling of phone calls and email messages, preparation and distribution of correspondence, scheduling, and corresponding meetings, and other appropriate administrative tasks as necessary

  • On-site fulfillment of contractual obligations for sponsors, tracks, and NHRA

  • Develop creative strategies based on client’s goals, objectives and budgets

  • Pre-event and post-event planning and analysis of reports to ensure success onsite

  • Review proposed onsite production to ensure continuity and marketing guideline protocol

  • Plans and organizes autograph sessions, pillar programs, driver introduction ceremonies, winners circle, and award shows

  • NHRA YES Programs Liaison: marketing, field operations, technical, competition, publications, communications, sales, membership, and division directors.

    Required Skills, Experiences and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Business, Communications, or Sports Management

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working full-time in related field

  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and time management skills with a strong customer service orientation

  • Ability to travel extensively (+- 20 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events per year) nationwide

  • Appreciation / knowledge of NHRA Championship Drag Racing and/or motorsports is preferred

  • High level PC proficiency

  • Physical endurance is needed to assist with on-site setup and teardown.  The job will require long days (10-12 hours at times) and working outdoors in extreme temperatures as needed.
